God is One

God is One
A Message of Peace and Unity for the World
Each religion has its own way of thinking about God, but the one commonality between all religions is in seeing God as light. A metaphor for light is enlightenment, truth, absence of ignorance, the opposite of darkness.

When we look at humanity as a whole with all the many cultures, religions, ways of doing things and seeing things, God is the one unifier, the one commonality. And yet, ironically so many wars have started in the name of God. If God really is truth, enlightenment, absence of the darkness of ignorance, this proves that the wars and fighting in the name of God really have nothing to do with God but only to do with the ignorance of human beings and the desire of human beings to divide humanity up into groups of us and them. It is common during wars or disagreements between people or nations to say, "God is on our side." We understand innately that this has to be false. If God were really a myth as many people say, or non existent, then why would 3/4 of the population of the world believe in Him and cry out to Him for help. Even those who have professed to be atheists all their lives cry out to God when they come into a life or death situation, in a moment of crisis.

Why would some sort of facsimile of God exist in all religions and cultures if He really didn't exist. The reason why so many people have lost faith in the existence of God is because of disheartenment, like the fable of the fox and the sour grapes. In the innocence of their childhood or in moments of sadness and weakness, they cried out to God but were unable to feel a connection and so they lost hope. They became bitter and indifferent and then began to follow others or to worship at the alter of their own ego. They chose to make materialism or science their God and to forget about this elusive being who seems to require so much subtly and perseverance to reach. For most people the material world is a lot easier. Or following in the footsteps of religious leaders gives them the illusion of God without having to do any, or very little, personal inner transformation.

Religions also give people a sense of community which is often lacking in our material world. But, all these things are only a temporary panacea, an illusion of being connected with God. Connection with God is not a group thing. It also has nothing to do with scriptures or following in the footsteps of someone you consider to be great, all the while considering yourself to be a lowly sinner. This attitude will never bring you closer to God.

Christ had many followers, but how many people have said to themselves, I am going to connect with God and live a Christ-like life. Too many people remain in low self esteem while putting great personalities like Christ, Abraham, Buddha, Gandhi or Mohammed on a pedestal, deifying them, but never becoming like them. In fact, never even considering the possibility of leading a life like them. What did these great personalities have in common? A deep love for God, love for humanity as a whole, no strong attachment to individual human beings, a great deal of humility, peacefulness, purity, a vision of brotherhood without division, acceptance for all people and situations.

In examining their lives it is possible to see that although they were great souls, they also had the qualities of human beings with the occasional moments of weakness. Each one also had their own strengths which made them unique from one another.

Only God can have total acceptance for all people and all situations at all times and complete, constant, altruistic love with total detachment. God doesn't hate sin. God never thinks about sin or sees sin in us. God only sees goodness and is blind to our sin. But in order to attract God's attention to us we have to let go of our burden of sin.

If we meditate on God as a point of light, as the incorporeal One, invisible, shining light, whilst recognizing ourselves as that too, as souls, silent, eternal, pure, peaceful, powerful, beings who have forgotten who we are, then we can become like God and come into close connection with God.

Hindus speak of God as Jothilingum, Muslims as Allah, Christians as Yahova. God is One. God is not a force which divides, but a force which unites. All divisions are man-made. God is our spiritual Parent. God is Universal. God is Light. God is the Benefactor for all souls, the Remover of Sorrow and the Bestower of Happiness.

Love
My meditation music plays softly
Candlelight throws shadows on the wall
I think of love, the highest, holiest action
The most elevated language, the highest form of energy
Love vibrates rapidly, powerfully shapes the environment
If there is love and peace at home, it is like heaven
Love has no blame but recognises the light in each one
It can transform the madness and insanity of the world
The whole world is hungry for one drop
Open your heart; send out unconditional, eternal, pure love
Become an ocean of love, love brings peace.

Sahaja Yoga Meditation
Sahaja Yoga is a meditation technique which brings a breakthrough in the transformation of human awareness. It was created by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi in 1970 and has since spread all around the world.

The advent of Sahaja Yoga meditation was prophesized a long time ago in many of the world's spiritual traditions and religions, in these modern times many seekers of Truth have been deluded into following various false, self-proclaimed "gurus" who are either money or power oriented, but not Spirit oriented.

A Meditation for spiritual ascent
Through the practice of Sahaja Yoga meditation, our awareness gains a new dimension where absolute truth can be felt tangibly - on our central nervous system. As a result of this happening, our spiritual ascent takes place effortlessly and physical, mental and emotional balance are achieved as a byproduct of this growth of our awareness.

We then realize that we are not this body, mind, ego, conditionings, emotions or intellect, but something of an eternal nature which is always residing in our heart in a pure, undisturbed state - the Self or Spirit.

The Spirit is the source of true knowledge, peace and joy. Self Realization is the actualization of this connection with our Spirit, which as Shri Mataji advocates, is the birthright of every human being.

Meditation on Positive Thinking
I sit relaxed
And begin to harness the power of my mind
For this meditation
We will allow the natural thoughts To flow
I have a thought that I am a peaceful positive being
I create the thought that I am a positive individual
And I maintain positive thoughts in every situation
I seek solutions to problems
And I focus in on the answers And not on the problems
I constantly fill my mind with positive powerful thoughts
I focus to replace the negative thoughts with positive thoughts
So that the light of positive thinking empowers me
These real thoughts bring a good feeling in my mind
I am a powerful positive being
I am a being of light
And as light I am carefree
As light I am beyond the dramas and chaos of those around me
My only important task is to be powerful in positive thinking
When I have tension I am creating positive thoughts
I do not experience any tension
I am positive powerful being of light
I am an eternal being of light
Any thought that is negative I let it pass
And keep the shining powerful mindset in place
I constantly generate positive powerful thoughts
Positive powerful thoughts are those of an eternal nature
They are who I really am
Just an eternal wonderful, radiant being
Of positive energy
And in this light my positive mindset cannot be shaken
By any adverse or negative situation that is around me
For I am the lighthouse
Shining within the storm of negativity of the world
But this powerful light I will forever keep ignited
And I let love be the eternal oil
That fuels this eternal flame of light
And a love to keep myself illuminated
By this meditation
That I will forever practice.

Hope you enjoy this positive thinking meditation

Raja Yoga Meditation philosophy
The basis for attaining an experience in raja yoga meditation in to understand the self and the mind. The human mind is the most creative, powerful and wonderful "instrument" we possess. Using this energy called mind we have been able to search the deepest oceans, send humans to the moon and scan the molecular fabric of the building blocks of nature. But have we found our true self? We have become the most educated and civilized society in our history, but are we civil towards each other?

The soul has three main faculties; the mind or consciousness, the intellect and the subconscious.

Thoughts flow from the sub conscious mind to the conscious mind. Feelings and emotions form in accordance with the montage of thoughts flowing in the mind. Therefore our state of mind at any given moment is determined by the thoughts in our consciousness, and also with the feelings that we associate with those thoughts. Since our sub consciousness contains all our previous thoughts and experiences, it is necessary to selectively control the flow of thoughts that emerges from the sub conscious mind.

The intellect is the controller which is used to discriminate so that only positive and benevolent thoughts flow into our mind. With meditation or deep contemplation, the individual is able to strengthen and sharpen the intellect. The end result is a constant state of well being. If we are able to understand the self as the source of energy that creates our feelings, then the following will become our aims.

Become aware of our state of mind and of the thoughts that flows into the mind from our subconscious.
Strengthen the intellect so that the individual can discriminate and thereby only allow positive and peaceful thoughts to flow into the mind.
Through this process of self development the individual develops more control over the mind.

INSPIRATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF

INSPIRATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF

SISTER BK NINA (NEWZEALAND)

GOT STRUCK IN THE PREVIOUS EARTH QUAKE

Om Shanti

At around 4:35am last Saturday, September 4th, my husband woke me up nudging me. When I opened my eyes, our house was already shaking violently. He said he heard a loud rumbling sound before the movement, and that woke him up. My first instinct was to get out of the house, so I got out of bed right away (in a panic) leaving him behind. As soon as I was standing, I thought of Baba and saw his light shining and protecting our house. It only happened in a second, and then I remembered my mom (BK Ellen) because I know how nervous she could get when it comes to natural calamities. It was impossible to run, but I managed to run going to my mom's room to check on her and ask her to get out of the house. I found her kneeling on the floor, holding our bhakti images because it was going to fall. After knowing that she was alright, I just stood there on the door and waited for the quake to stop. It lasted for 40 seconds but it felt like a lifetime. It was shaking for so long that I began to wonder if it would ever stop. The thing that made it worse is that after 5-10 minutes it started shaking again and it was like that for the first hour, it would shake almost like every after 10 -15minutes... it felt like destruction day.

During the first hour; my mom, my husband, and I did our yoga. It was the hardest yoga I have ever done. My mind was stabilizing but my body was shaking and my knees felt weak, I'm not sure if it was because it was cold, because it was 13deg cold inside my mom's room, or because of the adrenalin rush. Whatever the reason is, my body keeps pulling me down from my yoga... so it really was a struggle.

I now have an idea on how hard it's going to be like when destruction comes and we have not have had enough practice. Practice, practice, practice! Is this how Baba gives exam for his favorite children? Or a rehearsal perhaps, a rehearsal for his child who is still hiding behind the curtain! Every time we meditate, it would quake and my heart would pound so loudly I could feel it. It only means that I am not detached yet, not stable, and I am still affected.

One night, because I couldn’t sleep, I decided to meditate with my eyes closed so Baba can help me sleep. I haven’t reached Baba yet during meditation, we already felt a strong aftershock (5.4magnitude) I opened my eyes and checked my surroundings. Then I realized that I should not have done that! I should have stayed with Baba! I said “Ok Baba, one more time and let me try this again.” After 15mins during my meditation, the ground shook again! And again, I opened my eyes and got distracted watching the room shake. Oh dear, I failed again. The good thing is, because it keeps on happening, I find that it’s becoming easier to go back to meditation and just let it pass.

So I guess my grade for that examination is a C+, but we Brahmins are aiming for an A+. Oh dear, I’ve got a long way to go. I’m not affected anymore by the quake and its aftershocks, unless they are really strong ones that jolt you from sleep. I know that Baba is with us and everything he does is GOOD, indeed it is, but the body and Maya can be so powerful sometimes and we're still learning to beat them.

The next day (Sunday) to make things much worst, we were to expect a storm wind of 120-130kph enough to topple down damaged buildings and debris. Thank Baba it did not rain that day and the gust wind did not fully touchdown. There was a time when anger and fear would cross my mind because the quake just wouldn’t stop and it seems like it does not have any plans of stopping. Without gyan I don’t think we can survive this calamity… it can be so traumatic really. I have been receiving Murlis from Baba since May this year and reading those Murlis, Baba has made so many warnings but I did not really listen, thinking that I still have a lot of time.

Now, I’m beginning to realize that it is possible that tomorrow might never come and it is always best to begin NOW. My mom and I continue to read Murlis and make discussions and share our experiences about Baba. We continue to give service and remind each other how wonderful Baba is and how He has taught us a lot from this experience. Only a few people get to have an examination or a rehearsal like this from Baba. And He has really shown us that He is here with us and that we are protected.

I cannot begin to tell you how Baba has protected us from this earthquake because the list is long. Some houses are torn in two, microwaves ending up in fish tanks, broken appliances, road cracks are 5ft high, houses moved meters long from its original place, volcanic soils and underground water flooding the streets, people lost their businesses and houses etc. But inside our house only 1 bottle fell… everything was in place like nothing happened. My jars, which I have placed on the edge of our cupboards, did not even move an inch! ¾ of the City doesn’t have electricity and water, we have all those all throughout this calamity, and Baba’s frames and pictures did not move an inch as well.

Until now, we are still experiencing aftershocks for 5 days now. It did not lessen in intensity but only in frequency. In all, Canterbury has received 270 aftershocks of magnitude 3 to 5.4 so far since Saturday's quake; people would have felt about 150 of them. One of Baba’s great miracles during this calamity is that in spite of the strong quake… no one died and there were only 2 major casualties. No one was really badly hurt physically but psychologically people here are traumatized. Post traumatic stress will be rearing its ugly head for many adults and children.

Every night, since Saturday, we have been playing commentaries and meditation music the entire night to help us sleep and to calm us down whenever an aftershock strikes at night. A lot of people here are not able to sleep and becomes anxious at night, and up until now most are still bunking in their lounge.

Whatever Baba does is GOOD. He’s made so many warnings which I did not heed but he still protected me, He’s preparing us for destruction, He is always there, and His love is overwhelming!

Our ordeal here might not be over yet; we are still learning from our mistakes, continuing to make effort and service, and always remembering what Baba said “Study and become clever. If you do not study now, you will have to look down when the results are out.”

Brothers and sisters please remember us during your yoga.

Om Shanti

Bhavna, Trust and Faith

True Peace
True peace can be experienced only when we stop giving and taking sorrow. In order not to give sorrow we need a clear heart that has no ill feelings and for not taking sorrow we need a big heart that can tolerate and help other souls to get over their weaknesses.
Bhavna, Trust and Faith

Bhavna refers to the love filled, hope filled feelings that we have for something or someone. Baba’s bhavna for us is to become elevated. People have bhavna in the yagya – they see the wonderful way in which the machinery of the yagya runs seamlessly and they so they develop bhavna. People have bhavna in the idols of the goddesses.

Then comes trust. Trust refers to what I do with the bhavna that is kept in me. Baba has selected me but do I have that trust in myself. We develop trust in those who understand Baba’s bhavna and conduct themselves accordingly.

Finally there is faith. Faith is a matter of the intellect. Bhavna on the other hand is connected to the heart. If my faith is affected then my bhavna and trust can crumple. Faith is therefore the most important of the three.

Faith comes from gyan, for the intellect is cleaned with gyan. Even in the Gita it is said ‘A gyanni soul is loved by God’. When we need to apply a full stop it’s the intellects task to do this. If I am unable to this – it means I have no attention on the study – it’s as if I am uneducated and backward. Do I sincerely have the things of the murli in my intellect.

My drishti will reveal the state of my intellect. They say that ‘the drishti of a yogi is one that gives deep happiness to all.’ There is a deep connection between intellect and drishti. This is why it is vital that I keep my intellect clean. If I am clean (saaf) I will remain safe.

My intellect also must always hold the aim and the Bestower of the aim, in it. I must recognize who it is who has given me this aim ! I must maintain my bhavna in myself accordingly. If instead you create thoughts such as ‘I don’t know if I can do it’ then the contract of Baba’s help will be cancelled. In such circumstances even Baba cannot help us.

Bhavna is something that even those who are to become the subjects of Satyuga will have but faith ….Everything rests with faith.

Madhuban - our beautiful 'Palace of Mirrors'

(Many Double Foreigners have arrived in Baba's home during the last few days). Having spent the day in meetings in Gyan Sarovar, Dadi came to Pandav Bhavan to meet everyone and conducted class at 9pm)

I have come to meet all of you. Welcome! Are you happy in mind, body and wealth? If you are not happy then raise your hand! (No-one raised their hand).

All of us are sitting in Om Shanti Bhavan but wherever you are, keep the deep bhavna that you are sitting in Pandav Bhavan. Wherever I go in the world, I always feel that I am sitting in Pandav Bhavan. Keep this pure thought, this pure awareness and see what lovely feelings emerge in you. We keep such pure feelings that our Madhuban is beautiful - it is wonderful. We have deep, deep love for Madhuban. Emerge those feelings in yourself constantly. You will then carry that experience in you in such a way that others experience Madhuban through you.

When we were out on service and we visited Madhuban, there would be class in the History Hall. I used to say that this is the 'Palace of Mirrors'. This is such a place where we can see ourselves clearly. Here, we can see ourselves from the inside out. Everywhere else we see ourselves from the outside inwards. Here we can see everything clearly - what is lacking, what weaknesses I still have... It is not only easy to see this here but it is easy to remove those weaknesses and to make up what is lacking in me.

Wherever you are keep the hobby of looking yourself in a practical way. The eyes, the windows of the soul, can be used in a dangerous way. The wrong way of using the eyes is to look outside the self and to note what is going on externally. Use your eyes to look inside yourself and your eyes will become good. To look inside the self is the right way to use the eyes. Use your eyes in the right way and you will not need to wear glasses! Baba neither wore glasses nor did he go to the dentist! If you allow yourself to look at others, think of others and blame others then it is as if you cannot see clearly. Stop doing this and not only will your mind become clear but it will be as if you see everything clearly and accurately without any 'clouds' in front of you.

Remember, we will not have the chance to meet again as we are meeting now at the confluence with spiritual happiness and the feeling of belonging. This is not just a point to remember. We need to make ourselves a part of this gathering and really experience the beauty of this. There is no beneficial gathering like this in the whole world. It doesn't matter where you go - experience the happiness and strength of this gathering and you will carry that with. It is something that will stay with you and help you at every moment of your life. There is so much strength in this. First, let me accumulate strength inside. Baba has been reminding us again and again to fill ourselves with Godly power. Now check yourself: How much have I filled myself with Godly power? How much is that strength inside I the soul? I have received knowledge and that knowledge has enabled me to understand how to free myself from the dictates of my own mind and the influence of the senses. It is God's power which will enable me to do this.

How is peace going to come into the mind if the senses and the mind are not in order? Peace can be experienced when the soul is in charge of the mind and the senses. It is not a question of suppression. If there is suppression then, when they get the chance, the mind and senses will play mischief and it and the senses will try to take control again. No, here we gain control through the heart. The heart says, 'Hey mind, remain quiet, remain peaceful, I will take care of the senses'. The heart and mind have a deep connection. They could be said to be husband and wife or brother and sister! They have a deep relationship. They know each other very well. What is their relationship? Think about this…

If there are any negative feelings in the heart then the mind cannot be really happy. So keep your attitude, mind and heart clean and peaceful. Your drishti will then be accordingly. When everything is clean and peaceful then nothing feels difficult. Ask yourself: Am I experiencing any difficulty? No, when there is peace and cleanliness you will see everyone and every situation as good. The heart, mind and intellect will then work in harmony with the feeling that everyone and everything is good. There is the mind, intellect, heart and also the subtle sanskaras. Sometimes, a memory that is lying deep in the memory track emerges and affects the subtle sanskaras. You will then feel that you are not quite ok – there is a feeling of unease. If you say you are not ok then where is that feeling actually coming from? The sound is coming from the mouth but where is the feeling actually coming from? We sometimes have likes and dislikes - preferences. We do not stay in equanimity. We feel ourselves and our ideas to be right and try to prove ourselves. What kind of soul am I if I am doing this? Don’t allow yourself to create such a nature. Baba has given us so much understanding of the soul but we get caught up in external matters. Ask yourself: What kind of soul am I? Every soul has his own part. I cannot play the part of anyone else but what I can do is to keep a good relationship with everyone. I have to stay totally in the awareness of ‘I, the soul – inside’. The world, the body, relationships – all are external to me. My task is to remain in the awareness of being a soul and that all souls are my brothers. This is a brotherhood. My task is to keep the vision of soul and the original sanskaras of the soul. This is the homework Baba gave us last season. As BK’s we are brothers and sisters. Baba keeps the aim to bring benefit to everyone and He wishes us to keep that aim. Each one is good. Did you ever hear Baba say that someone is not good? God’s direction is to keep this awareness and this vision.

Baba has given us so many facilities to make spiritual endeavour. Now ask yourself: To what percentage am I making spiritual endeavour? Check the four subjects of gyan, yoga, dharna, seva. How many marks have I claimed in each subject? We need to have an equal level in each four. If not, it is not a sign of my royalty. We are studying all 4 subjects at one time. Do you keep the aim to claim full marks in all 4 subjects? If not, then how can you expect to pass with honours? Only by keeping the aim can you expect to pass with honour in all 4 subjects and thus be seated on Baba’s heart-throne. Now, don’t allow your head to become heavy with responsibility. Just follow Baba’s directions, He is there for us. Apply the tilak of self sovereignity and claim Baba’s heart-throne.

Om Shanti

Touch The Stillness
Every action has its seed in a thought and every thought is a creation of the thinker, the soul. I choose what thoughts I want to create and as is my thinking so are my actions and also my experience in life. Going within, I touch the stillness and pure love that lie at the core of my being and every thought that I create is of benefit to myself and of benefit to humanity.

Essence: Sweet children, to become oversensitive is body consciousness. You children should not have any devilish sanskar of sulking or crying. You have to tolerate happiness and sorrow, respect and disrespect.

Question: What is the main reason for service becoming slack?

Answer: Service becomes slack when, out of body consciousness, you begin to look at the weaknesses of one another. Not to get on with someone is also body consciousness. It is being oversensitive to say: I can’t live with so-and-so; I can’t stay here. To say these words means to become a thorn and be disobedient. Baba says: Children, you are the spiritual military and you should therefore be present as soon as you receive an order. Don’t make excuses about anything.

Blessing: May you forget the old world with Godly intoxication and become an embodiment of all attainments.

Just as that intoxication makes you forget everything else, in the same way, this Godly intoxication easily enables you to forget the world of sorrow. There is a lot of damage caused through that intoxication, and by drinking too much (alcohol) a person can die, but this intoxication makes you imperishable. Those who remain constantly intoxicated with this Godly intoxication become full of all attainments. The awareness of belonging to the one Father and none other makes you intoxicated and, with this awareness, you also receive power.
Slogan: Instead of copying one another, copy the Father.
